Dr. Rocky Ruggiero
Born in Florence around 1445, Botticelli was apprenticed to the painter Fra Lippo Lippi in the early 1460s. It was from Lippi that Botticelli learned the art of graceful figures and intimate compositions. After leaving Lippi’s workshop, Botticelli may have entered the workshops of Verrocchio and/or the Pollaiuolo brothers before beginning his own career as an independent artist. Join Dr. Rocky for this webinar where he will explore the beautiful paintings Botticelli produced in the earliest part of his career.
